Michael
Robinson, Ph.D., MCM
Vice President/ COO
Michael
Robinson has a total of 25 years' experience as General
Manager in 5 distinguished private clubs across the United
States. Prior to joining Founder Jim Goslin in Goslin/Robinson
Club Search, Michael served as General Manager
at the Meadow Club in Fairfax, California, where he led
the club to be designated a Platinum Club of America, placing
it in the top 200 clubs in the United States.
Michael's professional and civic affiliations include leadership
positions with several chapters of the Club
Managers Association of America (CMAA) and hospitality
advisory boards at both San Francisco State University and
the University of San Francisco.
Michael
is one of only 13 Master
Club Managers worldwide. He has served as Adjunct
Instructor for several hospitality management college programs
and has been published in Club
Management Magazine. He has earned awards for
menus, employee training, employee incentives and motivation.
He is a co-coordinator of both domestic and international
food and wine workshops for CMAA.
In
addition to his role as Vice President/COO at Goslin/Robinson
Club Search, Michael most recently served as Director of Placement
with the International College
of Hospitality Management, Cesar Ritz.
Michael's
Ph.D. is in Organization and Management with a specialization
in Leadership. His Doctoral
Dissertation is entitled Tenure of Managers in the
Private Club Industry: An analysis of demographic, job content,
and organizational contributing factors. He also
holds an M.B.A., a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management,
and has completed several advanced professional development
programs.
A
member of the International
Coach Federation, Michael has trained at the College
of Executive Coaching. He additionally holds a number
of relevant leadership/training and industry-related certifications.
